NoteBurner Copyright Statement

NoteBurner adheres to strictly follow the regulations below:

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17) stipulates the key aspects as to the recording of audio content. Please note that the regulations in this article are confined to the US region and that any information presented here is given without any warranty.

1. The US copyright Law Allows Digital Music Recording

3. NoteBurner Strictly Observes the Copyright Rules

1) NoteBurner Only Records the Unencrypted Audio Signal

Most online streaming services protect their content from "direct download" by using DRM technology, which also effectively ensures only authorized users can access the streams.

NoteBurner respects the regulations as always, and has never circumvented the DRM tech. NoteBurner software only records the unencrypted audio signals which are outputted to the system sound card. The radios, podcasts, and music streams that NoteBurner is able to record are not protected by effective copy-protection measures. Especially, any track cannot be recorded by NoteBurner independently without subscribing to the streaming services.

2) NoteBurner Never Circumvent Copy Protection

Some audio content is also protected by the provider against recording. This is done technically in that the music data on the computer are only processed in encrypted form and are only decrypted in the display device. NoteBurner never tried to circumvent it to access the encrypted music data. Therefore NoteBurner is unable to record and save such content.

3) NoteBurner Support to Record Audios in an Easier Way

Which audio content can be recorded varies from provider to provider, and sometimes also from content to content. NoteBurner only records content that is without circumventing protection.

It is also possible to record exactly the same content with any other audio recorder. The fact that the recording of music streaming content, which has not been provided with recording protection by the provider and does not circumvent effective protection, can also be seen from the fact that this is even possible with "on-board means". The on-board tools like QuickTime or Windows Game Recorder can record the same content as with NoteBurner. However, NoteBurner will performance in an easier way.

4. Provider's Terms and Conditions

When subscribing to commercial music streaming services, you may have agreed to terms and conditions, which restrict your rights to record music. Please make sure you carefully check such terms and conditions before using NoteBurner to record such media. NoteBurner shall not be liable if you violate such regulations which you have agreed to.
